For many people, stellar artistic skills, a respectable body of work, and a strong professional network do not always ensure that opportunities are within reach, or that bills are paid. It can be even more challenging for emerging artists who are not as advanced in their careers.

Paid opportunities are available through arts councils, foundations, philanthropists, private donors, and government organizations. When artists are able to directly impact the communities in which they live through classes, workshops, and events open to the public, more paid opportunities become available.

Artistic consulting services can allow for understanding this process, and figuring out one's particular way in accessing these opportunities.

ChatGPT is definitely useful for quickly drafting text. It also can be helpful for condensing longer paragraphs, or rewording text in a different style. However, ChatGPT tends to use the same turns of phrases for many people, and generates text that rings empty. It also generates filler words, particularly if you don't input enough material for it to work with. Factual information and references also may be inaccurate. AI also leaves a greater carbon footprint. 

Non-paid opportunities include artist residencies, retreats, fellowships, workshops, opportunities for public display of work, and access to studio space for creating new work. 

Unpaid opportunities still allow for expanding a professional network, to meet other artists in your own field and in other fields. This leads to new collaborations and inspirations, that can lead to new projects that can receive funding.

No. The National Association for Social Workers has put forth the NASW Code of Ethics. All US-licensed social workers must adhere to these guidelines. Licensed social workers are prohibited from engaging in "Dual Relationships" with therapy clients; this includes conducting additional business transactions. This can harm clients and can lead to ethical violations. Consequently, I cannot offer grant writing services to current or former therapy clients.

Likewise, the Grant Professionals Association (GPA) Code of Ethics outlines guidelines that compel grant writers to act in accordance with their profession's regulations. Grant writers additionally must avoid professional misconduct and potential conflicts of interest. To ensure the highest integrity in my consulting work, I cannot offer therapy services to current or former grant-writing clients. 

My adherence to these ethical guidelines of my professions, allows me to maintain the highest professional integrity and also protect my clients' welfare.
