Here are videos of original songs. I have 2 main styles:
1) Classical music style with florid melodies, traditional chord progressions and forms.
2) "Sesame Street" chill kiddie music.
A big passion of mine is writing songs with people, so there's some of that too. Also there's some of me playing viola.
"Crossing Guard" became a great hit at the open mics I hit in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. People would request it frequently and sing along with the chorus. This song demonstrates my "Sesame Street" style of songwriting.
"Don't Bully" is an anti-bullying song, written by my clients and me.
"Insane" is a song about how society is insane. Kinda inspired by the Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys, but my stuff always ends up sounding like "me."
This song is a farewell to "Jurk," a beloved air raid siren. Written by my client and me.
"Depressed Courting Song" was written when I was very unwell and overweight. I look like a different person.
Kiddie style again. A bitter message to a mother who limited the singer's freedom to play and fit in. (Disclaimer: this was not my mom, but someone else.)
"World" was written when I was soul-searching, around the time Hurricane Sandy hit.
Me playing Bach's 1st Cello Suite in G Major on Viola, the Gigue.
